Up & Run Club is a free community running club in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. No dues, no pace requirements—just a group of people who like to move and eat good food after.
It started the way most good things do—two friends who didn't want to do something alone. We both loved running, but we hated the loneliness of it. So in the summer of 2025, we decided to change that. Not with a business plan or a brand strategy, but with a group text: "Who wants to run on Saturday?"
That first run was fourteen people at Deland Park. We ran three miles along the lakefront, then walked to a coffee shop downtown. Nobody timed anything. Nobody talked about PRs. We just ran, talked, laughed, and drank coffee. It felt like exactly what Sheboygan needed.
Word spread the way it does in a small city—through Instagram stories, word of mouth, and people telling their coworkers about the run they did over the weekend. By the third run, more than thirty people showed up. Some were seasoned runners. Some had never run a mile. All of them stayed for the coffee.
Now it's a monthly tradition. Local businesses sponsor post-run food and drinks. We've partnered with coffee shops, breweries, and restaurants across Sheboygan who believe in the same thing we do—that a city is better when people show up for each other. The club is free and always will be.
“We didn't start a club. We just asked our friends to run with us. Then their friends showed up. Then strangers started showing up. That's when we knew this was something.”
You don't need to be fast. You don't need gear. You just need to show up.
We don't time races. We finish together and cheer for the last person in.
A 3-mile jog every month does more for your life than a marathon you never sign up for.
The best part of any run is what comes after—food, drinks, and good conversation.
